Apple’s mobile chat system ‘iMessage’ is experiencing a very large outage today, but the reason is still unknown.
The downtime appears to have been happening for some hours now, based on the amount of time people have been complaining about it on Twitter.
A couple of weeks ago some users experienced problems with iMessage however it was quickly sorted. The Apple-only chat system often delays or fails completely to send messages, however has never experienced an outage quite like this.

Whatever the problem was, it seems to be fixed now. iMessage should now work as it’s usual, unreliable self.
