HMV have found themselves in some serious trouble, entering administration earlier this month. However the retailer’s owners may have thought of a way to save the company, closing down half of the stores in the UK and putting the company’s focus on digital downloads.
More and more people are losing interest in owning CDs and DVDs, opting for the digital revolution by downloading media from Apple and Amazon. The same tactic was used to successfully save HMV Canada in 2011, so hopefully it will be just as successful here.
The company hasn’t released any information on which stores will be closing, or when we can expect to start losing them.
