On 8th October 2012, Felix Baumgartner will travel up to the edge of the atmosphere in a capsule carried by a helium balloon. Then, at an altitude of approximately 23 miles high, he will exit the capsule and fall for an estimated time of just over 10 minutes, breaking the sound barrier while plummeting.
The stunt, ‘Red Bull Stratos’ is hoping to break the world record of free-falling, which was previously set back in 1960. In only a few days, you will be able to watch a live webcast of the event as it unfolds at redbullstratos.com, but until then, why not watch this CGI video imagining how things will go?
