There has already been some amazing stuff to be revealed at CES this year, but most of it has been expected, with 4K TVs and large screen phones dominating the headlines. But this new piece of technology is definitely something we didn’t see coming.
Created by Tactus, this touchscreen technology could be something we see used in upcoming devices over the next couple of years. Basically, the screen acts as normal, just like any other iPad, iPhone, Nexus..you get the idea. But when you bring up the keyboard or number pad, buttons rise up from the glass for more accurate typing. Just like magic.
From what I can gather from glancing at the technical stuff, the buttons are basically bubbles, pushed up from beneath the glass when it detects you need to type. In the video, it’s used specifically for typing, but it would be very interesting to see if it could be used in some games in the future.
It’s so crazy, it might just work.
