Twitter gets the most traffic Mon-Thurs between 9am and 3pm. You may think that this is the optimum time to post your content but it does mean that there are even more people who are trying to be heard on the site, so it’s best to wait until things have begun to quieten down a bit before posting the content.
On Facebook, links posted between 1-4pm get the highest click through rates with 3pm being the best time overall.
It’s also important to know that, although there are huge benefits to waiting for the opportune time to post, any breaking news should be posted as soon as possible as people will be actively searching for and sharing the content.
