Wallace & Gromit Use Google Hangout This Christmas

Here it is, yet another Google advert to make me love their marketing campaigns even more. This one uses focuses on Wallace & Gromit and characters from Chicken Run, Shaun the Sheep and Creature Comforts, who use Google Hangout to communicate with each other over the Christmas period. It only lasts a minute, but it’s a bit of festive fun which has certainly got me in the Christmas spirit.

EE Customers To Get Free Wi-Fi on the Tube

EE offering Free Wi-Fi To Customers on London Underground

As if being the first and only network in the UK wasn’t enough to win people over, EE customers will now receive free Wi-Fi in the London Underground, courtesy of a partnership with Virgin Media.

According to Engadget, Virgin Media have been providing Londoners with free Wi-Fi on the tube to help support the Olympics, which took place earlier this year. The initial plan was for the Wi-Fi to stop at the end of this year, but reports are coming through that EE have reached an agreement which will see them use the same Wi-Fi network to provide internet access to their customers, starting sometime in 2013.

The news was broken a little earlier than EE had hoped, as whoever was in charge of the network’s Twitter account couldn’t hold their excitement any more and took to breaking the news themselves, however this tweet has since been removed.

Nexus 4: How Not To Launch A Product

Earlier this week, the LG Nexus 4 was due to be released on the Google Play store for a price much cheaper than found in retailers. Unfortunately, the stock was all gone within 50 minutes, meaning that Google must have advertised the product better than they thought, as they seriously under-prepared for the amount of people pouring onto the website.

Watch People Get Pranked By Microsoft

In the last few years, Microsoft have really tried to push the ‘live tile’ feature as much as possible. Windows phone has had the feature for a while, while the new Windows 8 operating system has just been given the colourful blocks. In an attempt to further promote this feature of Microsoft products, the company decided to prank innocent passers in Oslo.

Microsoft fitted the tile on a street next to a building which was emitting muffled music and was showing the silhouettes of people dancing, as if there was a concert going on in the room. When people stepped on the tile, the music became clearer. If the person continued to stand on the tile, the building’s wall falls around the terrified civilian, to show the concert going on. Then begins the flash mob.
