Smart Notebooks by Evernote and Moleskine

£20 for a notebook? It had better be good.

Evernote and Moleskine are practically competitors, even if they aren’t entirely in the same market. Moleskine is a world renown office utility company famous for their well designed notebooks, journals, memo books and albums. Whereas Evernote are an increasingly famous company who’s aim is to drag people away from using pen and paper, and use their smartphones or tablets to organize their day.

In somewhat an odd partnership, Evernote and Moleskine have teamed up to create an Evernote branded notebook, for use with the note taking app. The notepad features specially designed paper to help the application pick up your sketches and notes. Each notebook also comes with 3 months of Evernote premium for free, however when you’re paying up to £20 for a notebook, you can hardly call it a free gift. However that does mean if you regularly use notebooks, you can keep purchasing a new one to get an unending supply of the premium version, which usually costs £4 a month. Also included is some stickers to help arrange sketches, however this seems like a poor attempt to make it seem like you’re getting more for your money.

I’m quite skeptical as I hardly ever write anything anymore, i’m all about using computers, tablets and phones. However if you still regularly jot down your ideas, and are eager for a very well designed notebook with some added benefits, this could be for you. If you do get one, please let me know below what you think of it. Maybe i’m missing something.
